COMICTIME ATTACK HA TERMINADO
Muchísimas gracias a todos los que se pasaron o estuvieron más o menos pendientes. Durante las próximas semanas terminaremos de rotular SUPERWOLF y decidiremos qué queremos hacer con la historia. Pero eso será otro día. Entre tanto podéis ver como se dibujó la última página en el reproductor, o echar un vistazo a este estupendo fanart dedicado a los Peasantes que han hecho Megachix y la gente de DOP. Mega incluso se grabó dibujando a la vez que yo!
Comienza ComicTime Attack 2009. Desde las 09:00 GMT de este próximo sábado 28/04/09, speed comics en vivo en Steel Raining. Descarga el guión, sintoniza con nuestra webcam y sigue el trabajo página a página a lo largo de todo el día. Tenemos un personaje absurdo, mucho papel y una cámara a través de la que podréis conectar con nuestra mesa de dibujo.

Huge thanks to all those who dropped by or followed Comictime Attack. In the coming weeks We’ll finish the lettering in SUPERWOLF and decide what to do with such a bizarre story. Mega even recorded herself drawing at the same time as me!
Here starts Comictime Attack 2009! Next Saturday 04/28/09, around 9:00 P.M. GMT live comics arrive to Steel Raining. Download the script (spanish text, pdf and Celtx formats included), tune on the camera and follow our work page by page. We have a nonsensical character, a stack of paper and a crappy cam you can use to connect with our drawing table.

Vep Vs. Justice Remake/Remodel
Estas dos tiras fueron mi contribución a uno de los hilos Remake/Remodel que se organizan regularmente en los foros de Whitechapel. Por primera vez, dos de los personajes de anteriores Remake/Remodel coinciden en una misma aventura. Vuelven Irma Vep y el Capitán Justicia.
“Irma Vep era la más atractiva de los protagonistas de LES VAMPIRES, un serial cinematográfico en 10 partes acerca de un equipo de ladrones. Era “su miembro más enigmático… una mujer tan bella como implacable y peligrosa”… A Irma Vep se la reconoce como la primera femme fatale del cine. Seduce a las personas para satisfacer sus propios fines y va por ahí robando, enfundada en su mono negro.
Por su parte el Capitán Justicia es un lobo de mar, un “pirata moderno”, un “aventurero de primer orden” cuya guarida -una verdadera maravilla de la tecnología- era una fortaleza de una milla de altura. Contaba con una nave invisible para viajar por todo el mundo acompañado de sus amigos, Midge (su joven asistente pelirrojo) y el Profesor Flaznagel. Desde ciudades perdidas a las profundidades del Sahara, juntos combatían a los malechores allá donde los encontraran.

These strips were my contribution for one of the Remake/Remodel weekly challenges at the Whitechapel forums. For the first time ever, two charecters from previous Remake/Remodel challenges get together in the same adventure.
“Irma Vep was the most striking protagonist of LES VAMPIRES, a 10-part movie serial about a team of burglars. She was “their most enigmatic member by far… a woman as ruthless and deadly as she is beautiful”… Irma Vep is broadly considered to be cinema’s first femme fatale. She’s a moral vacuum, she seduces people to her will in order to control her environment and she steals shit while wearing a black catsuit…”
“Captain Justice is the “Sea Rover,” a “modern pirate,” an “adventurer of the highest order” whose home base, a technological wonder (it had two-way television in it), was a mile-high fortress, Titanic Tower, floating somewhere in the Atlantic. He used an invisible airship to take him and his friends, Midge the red-headed boy assistant (think Sexton Blake’s Tinker and Nelson Lee’s Nipper) and Professor Flaznagel, around the world, from hidden cities to the depths of the Sahara, and to fight evil and wrong-doers wherever he found them.”

LA TigSource Comicompo es un comic dibujado por un grupo de personas. Cada participante ha dibujado una única página de la historia, y esa página está basada en la inmediatamete anterior. Ninguno de los participantes tuvo idea de cual sería el contenido final del cómic hasta que estuvo completado, pero arranca con un creador de videojuegos independiente que se echa a dormir. ¿Qué le sucederá en el extraño mundo del subconsciente? Tendrás que leer el cómic para averiguarlo.
Si todo va bien, la próxima Comicompo comenzará en breve en los foros de TIGSource.com. Si quieres formar parte de la acción, asegurate de estar registrado en los foros. No es necesaria ninguna clase de talento artístico, solo ganas de pasarlo bien y dar forma a una obra de arte tan excepcional que los libros la mencionarán como uno de los mayores logros humanos de todos los tiempos. This Comicompo is a a comic made up by a group of people. Each person draws only one page of the comic, and their page is based only upon the previous page. No individual has any knowledge of the comic’s entirety until its completion. The 1st Annual TIGForums Comicompo started with a set theme. That theme is “Indie Dreams.” When the comic begins, an indie developer falls asleep. What happens in the wild world of the subconcious? You’ll have to read the comic to find out.
If all goes well, then the next Comicompo will begin sometime soon. It will be taking place at the TIGSource.com community forums. If you want a piece of the action for the next edition of the Comicompo, then make sure you’re ready and registered the forums! The comic does not require any sort of artistic talent. It’s about having fun and molding a unique piece of art that will go down in the history books as one of the most important human achievements of all time. We hope you can join us next time!

Hoyhoykung
Resumiendo la historia, hace algunos meses, mientras visitaba PlanetDamage (un interesante blog de cibercultura), me quede enganchado a estas increíbles pinturas digitales. Adolescentes cítricos reunidos en centros comerciales industriales y enganchados a las carreras de megamáquinas. Hace poco tuve la oportunidad de cruzar algunos correos con su responsable, el artista digital tailandes Hoyhoykung, y encargarle un pin-up con el que acompañar a la tercera temporada de Steel Raining. De modo que sí, Hoyhoykung visitará Steel Raining y podremos disfrutar de su versión de uno de mis personajes. Aunque por el momento no diré cual.
Lo que sí puedo decir es que es un placer -un lujo, en realidad- contar con Hoyhoykung en la web y que todos deberíais pasaros a disfrutar su sensacional galería. O tal vez encargar vuestro propio boceto. Por qué no?
Long story short, a few months ago I was visiting PlanetDamage (an interesting blog on cyberculture) when I was blown away by these awesome digital paintings. Cytric teenagers hanging around around industrial malls and addicted to mega-machine motorsports. I recently had the chance to cross a few messages with the creator, Thai digital artist Hoyhoykung, and commision a Pin-Up to include inside the third season of Steel Raining. So yes, Hoyhoykung will be visiting Steel Raining and We’ll be able to enjoy his amazing take on one of my characters. But I’m not telling you which one. Not yet.
What I can say, for now, is It’s been a pleasure -and a luxury- to work with Hoyhoykung. You should drop around his gallery, sit back and enjoy a look at his awesome art. Or maybe order your own commision. Why not?
