RWorld es un pequeño sketchbook que reunirá la mayor parte de los rediseños de personajes que he ido acumulando durante estos dos últimos a raíz de mi participación en los hilos Remake/Remodel, que promovía Warren Ellis mientras estuvo a cargo de los foros Whitechapel. Muchos ya los habéis visto aquí, en la web, pero ahora vendrán todos juntitos e impresos en un sketchbook formato comic que rondará las 24 páginas a todo color.

RWorld tiene fines puramente promocionales. Se trata simplemte de tostar unas cuantas copias para tenerlas a mano, llevarlas de paseo y enseñarlas por ahí. Aun así, habrá posibilidad de hacerse una copia en Lulu.com, para todo aquel que quiera encargar el suyo propio a un precio que seguramente será poco realista.

RWorld is a small sketchbook I’m putting together, containing most of the character redesigns I’ve drawn as a result of the Remake/Remodel threads Warren Ellis used to promote in the Whitechapel forums. Some of those are already available here in my website, but this time We’ll get them all together and printed in a fancy sketchbook around 24pages long.

RWorld has a promotional purpose only. I’m printing a handful of copies to have around and show at cons. However, you’ll have the chance to print your own via Lulu.com. This is mainly a collection of pictures, but there’s some back matter in there too, so keep in mind all text will be in spanish. And yeah, I know print on demand is expensive. Sadly this is the best I can do for now.

It’s been a while since I made one of these for the last time. This is my entry for the latest Remake/Remodel challenges at the Whitechapel Forums. Here’s a brief description of Jenny Greenteeth:

“Jenny Greenteeth is a figure in English folklore. A river hag, she would pull children or the elderly into the water and drown them. She was often described as green-skinned, with long hair, and sharp teeth.
She is likely to have been an invention to frighten children from dangerous waters similar to the Slavic Rusalka, the Kappa in Japanese mythology, or Australia’s Bunyip, but other folklorists have seen her as a memory of sacrificial practices”.

This is my entry for a new Remake / Remodel challenge at the Whitechapel forums. This time We’re drawing these “station idents” for Mr. Ellis’s Blog. There’s a lot of good entries there and all I can do now is cross my fingers and hope mine gets chosen. Here’s the rules:

“There is a category called station ident on warrenellis.com.
A station ident is an image I would post first thing in the morning.
The only thing connecting them is that they HAVE to carry the following text:
this is warren ellis dot com
and that they HAVE to be legible and pretty at a width of 640px.
All the entries I like will be used as station idents on the site over the next several weeks.
So your entry HAS to be accompanied by your NAME and your WEBSITE ADDRESS of choice.
As you will see if you look through old station idents, using photos of yourself is perfectly fine”.

There’s a new Remake / Remodel thread up at the Whitechapel forums. This week We’re remaking this masterpiece of camp: the Spectreman.

According to wikipedia, “Spectreman requests his transformation from the Nebula Star. Saying “Ryôkai” or “Ready” in the US version, he raises his right hand towards the Nebula Star, which shoots a beam at him, transforming into Spectreman, a cybernetic being in a gold-and-copper cuirass. Before transforming back into a human, however, he simply faints, possibly from using up his energy. Spectreman starts out as human-sized, and can increase his size at will”.

There’s new Chinese Wishpers Cover Remodel thread up at the Whitechapel forums. This time people are remixing the Fantastic Four.

Here’s the rules of the challenge, according to Mr. Ellis:

“You are an artist/designer. You have to put together the cover for a comic called THE FANTASTIC FOUR. It is issue 1 of this book.

It’s up to you what kind of company you’re at. What kind of comics you make. How you translate that description of The Fantastic Four. What era you’re in. Who you are, even. Go nuts with it.”

I finally managed to put this together for the Steampunk Batman challenge at the Whitechapel forums. Here’s the original rules of the game by Mr Warren Ellis:

“Immerse yourself in the era of Steampunk, and the coal-fired industrial nightmare of Gotham, where is set the popular silent films concerning The Batman. Or even The Bat-Man, if you prefer.

There have been several such moving pictures to date, with titles like

THE MAGNIFICENT BAT-MAN
BATMAN RESPLENDENT
BATMAN, A FORMIDABLE CHAP INDEED
THE DARK KNIGHT, SPLENDID

and the like.

Your task is to design a poster, suitable for placement outside a cinematheque or other theatre, regarding one of these films. There are several in the series I have not mentioned, and you are of course free to make those up. I mean, use them wisely”.

Oh, and the Batman is (c) Warner/DC, you know.

The X-men are (c) Marvel while the FreakAngels are (c) Warren Ellis.

You have been told that Superman is a man who dresses predominantly in a shade of blue, and wears a red S symbol. You know nothing else about the character.


The cover must include a logo and the text THE COMPLETE STORY OF THE DARING EXPLOITS OF THE ONE AND ONLY SUPERMAN.


And that’s it.


It’s up to you what kind of company you’re at. What kind of comics you make. How you translate that description of Superman. What era you’re in. Who you are, even. Go nuts with it.
